All of our instructors pass a “live scan” background check as well as Easy Street’s strict screening and training process. We are bonded and fully insured. Q: Is there a fee to cancel or reschedule a lesson?
A: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel or reschedule your lesson with in 48 hours of your upcoming scheduled lesson, then you will be charged $60.00 and you will not to be able to schedule you next lesson until the fee is paid.
Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: No, we do not offer refunds.
Q: How do I schedule the “DMV Drive Test” service?
A: First, you must have at least one 2-hour lesson with one of our driving instructors. If the instructor feels that you are a safe driver and believes you have the skills to pass the DMV driving test, they will authorize you to use the Easy Street vehicle. Then, you will call the office and our office staff will guide you through the process of scheduling your DMV driving test.
Q: Can a parent be in the car with the student on a lesson?
A: No. We do not allow the parents in the car with the student as we have found that it can change the teaching dynamic.
Q: Do I have to bring my permit with me every time to my lesson?
A: Yes! You must have your ORIGINAL permit with you NOT a copy or picture. If you don’t, the lesson will be cancelled, you will incur a $100.00 “No Show” fee and your account will be locked until the fee is paid.
Q: Do you pick me up at my house for my lesson?
A: Yes! We pick you up from your home, school work or wherever else you want as long as it’s in within the same zone in our service area.
Q: Do you teach adults as well as teenagers?
A: Yes! Our skilled driving instructors teach students of all ages.

Q: How often should I schedule my lessons?
A: Typically, we suggest scheduling lessons every 4-6 weeks and getting lots of practice with parents in between each lesson.
Q: Should I save my last lesson and take it a couple of days before my DMV driving test?
A: NO! We want to make sure there is plenty of practice time between the 3rd lesson and the DMV driving test. There are a few specific ways the DMV wants you to drive that takes approximately a month of time and practice to master. In addition, We’re imploring you to avoid the following stressful scenario: Here’s the scenario: Let’s say you had your 3rd lesson scheduled, and your DMV test was in the next couple of days from that 3rd lesson. Then due to unforeseen circumstances, (student is sick, a family emergency, instructor is sick, or a car breaks down) the lesson needs to be rescheduled. This means having to reschedule your DMV test. You just don’t need that kind of drama in your life!
Q: Can I still have lessons with Easy Street if I live outside your service areas?
A: Yes! You can be picked up at our office in Ventura or our office in Santa Barbara. Also, we offer a variety of alternate pick up locations within our service area stretching from Santa Barbara to Thousand Oaks.
Q: I’m under 17 1/2 and I don’t have a CA Learner’s Permit. What do I need to do?
A: If you are 15 1/2 and under 17 1/2 then you must take a Drivers Ed course. Go to our website at easystreetdrivingschool.com and enroll in our Online Drivers Education Course. You are required to do 30 hours of drivers education. There are 11 chapters with a quiz after each chapter and there is a cumulative test at the end of the 11th chapter. Once you pass the course with at least 80% we will be notified and will mail you your pink completion certificate. It is an original certificate and can not be emailed or faxed. Once you have your completion certificate you can make an appointment at the DMV to take your written (permit) test. You must take your completion certificate with you to the DMV to take the test. Once you have your permit, you can call us back and schedule your first driving lesson. Your permit is NOT activated until your first lesson with a licensed driving instructor.
Q: I’m 17 1/2 and I don’t have a CA Learner’s Permit. What do I need to do?
A: You need to apply for a license at the DMV, pass the written test to receive your permit and learn to be a safe and confident driver (we recommend lessons from Easy Street even though they are not required by law). Then, wait until you’re 18 and pass the Behind the Wheel test at the DMV to receive your license.
Q: I’m 18 years old and I don’t have a CA Learner’s Permit. What do I need to do?
A: Go take the written test at the DMV to obtain your permit, learn to be a safe and confident driver (we recommend lessons from Easy Street even though they are not required by law). Then go to the DMV to take the drive test.
Q: What form of payment do you accept?
A: Payment of the full balance is due when you register for your driving package. We accept Debit Cards or Credit Cards.
